Institutional Background

The Vermont Virtual Learning Cooperative is in a unique position to help educators gain skills in teaching online. VTVLC is already the state leader in K-12 online learning, with an cohort of trained and experienced teachers at partner high schools.   With the introduction of the new Online Teaching Specialist endorsement, teachers in VTVLC have an opportunity to be recognized for their professional development and expertise.

Additionally, VTVLC has developed significant resources and infrastructure to supply high quality online professional development to school districts across the state.  We have a group of highly qualified instructors who currently provide classes to educators across the state.  Being able to offer a program for the OTS add-on endorsement to Vermont teachers is a clear fit with our resources and expertise.

The mission of the Marlboro College’s Center for Graduate and Professional Studies is to offer responsive, innovative education of the highest standard in professional studies in the topic areas of management, technology, and teaching. The educational practice of the School fosters the development of critical thinking, articulate presentation, coherent concepts and arguments, superior writing skills, and the ability to apply creative, sustainable solutions to real world problems. The goal of Marlboro’s Teaching with Technology program is for students to develop the ability to effectively integrate technology into teaching and training.
